Stockholm-based fashion house Acne Studios is splitting their denim line from their main collections.
As a brand that grew to the fore back in the late 90s for its innovative approach to denim, Acne Studios is seeking to bring some of that experimental freedom back by seperating their denim range from their more diverse main fashion collections.
“I wanted to create a free space for us, running parallel to our regular collections,” Creative Director Jonny Johansson said in a statement. “This is what Acne Studios Blå Konst will be. Our denim will be like a study, always evolving and moving forward.”
Although Blå Konst, with means 'blue art' in Swedish, will encompass the whole new denim range across both men and women, three styles will sit beneath that mantle. The looser fitting ‘Land’ will be accompanied by a tapered fit called ‘River’ and a slim fit called ‘North’. Those three very Swedish names will help differentiate cuts for the customer.
